- This upcoming Friday (December 12th) is Our Lady of Guadalupe Day. Mr. Danesi and I are organizing a small event for this Friday where we will commemorate the occasion. If you have never heard of Our Lady of Guadalupe, read the short story about it here. The celebration on Friday will include a short skit, some presentations over Our Lady of Guadalupe, food (yay!), and of course, music. I believe Father Ron will be saying a short prayer or homily as well.
- This week you will receive your questions for the speaking portion of your final exam. Here is how this will work: you need to practice how to answer the questions. You need to sign up for a time to come in and take your oral exam (sign up sheet will be passed around this week). When you come, you will draw numbers from a hat. Those numbers correspond to the questions I gave you. I will then ask you the question in Spanish and you will need to answer for me in Spanish. After I ask that main question, I will ask one or two follow up questions that were not given to you (this is done to ensure that you understand what the questions are asking). You will be graded on your answers, your ability to pronounce words correctly, and on your overall fluidity of speech (i.e. you don't take really long pauses or ask me how to say certain words). The speaking portion of this final exam should not last longer than 10 minutes. IF YOU MISS YOUR APPOINTMENT, YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO. THERE ARE NO MAKEUPS. MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMEMBER YOUR SCHEDULED TIME.
Spanish 1 - We are finishing Unit 4 Monday and Tuesday and will work on Lady of Guadalupe stuff on Wednesday and Thursday
Spanish 2 - We will finish Unit 3 this week.
Spanish 3/4 - We will finish Cuarta Lección (present perfect subjunctive, imperfect subjunctive, pluperfect subjunctive). Your final exam will be your test over Cuarta Lección and your speaking exam.
